2022 Season update:

Unfortunately, Wallowa Paragliding will not be offering any Tandem Paragliding Flights from Mt. Howard and the Wallowa Lake Tramway during the summer of 2022. Our normal operating season starts in early August and finishes the end of september. Sorry for the inconvenience, and hopefully we will be able to sort out the insurance situation so that we can operate again in the future.

With no experience necessary, you are able to take to the skies with an experienced tandem paragliding instructor.  Your pilot will explain everything you need to know to be able to enjoy this life changing experience!

Scenic tandem flights range from 10-15 minutes depending on lifting air or thermal conditions.  For those seeking a more adventurous way down the mountain, some faster tricks are available for those who desire a faster ride!  

It is recommended to wear some good hiking/ankle supporting boots, bring a light jacket, and sunglasses.  Everything else is provided.  

Our normal operating season starts in early August and finishes when the Wallowa Lake water levels drop enough to expose the landing area (river delta) next to the Wallowa Lake Lodge. We are not able to fly the first half of the summer season due to the high lake levels when water is stored behind the irrigation dam. The season ends the last weekend of september. Depending on future insurance requirements and costs, these instructional tandem flights would cost roughly $275 per person/per flight (not including Wallowa Lake Tramway ticket).
